American Fork Symphony

2011-2012 Season Rehearsal Schedule

Rehearsals for the 2011-2012 season of the American Fork Symphony will begin Saturday, August 27 at 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the American Fork Junior High School band room, 1120 North 20 West. There is an opening for an oboe and English horn player and also openings for string players, as well as for percussion and some other players. However, the orchestra welcomes players of all orchestral instruments.

The symphony is under the direction of conductor Alan Allred. Upcoming concert dates are October 17, December 5, February 27, April 23, and July. The first three concerts will be held in the new American Fork Junior High auditorium, and the April 23 concert will be in the American Fork High School auditorium. The October concert will be titled "Musical Menagerie from A to Zoo"; the December concert will include Christmas selections; the February concert will feature an adult soloist; and the April concert will again feature youth soloist audition winners. The July concert is part of the annual Steel Days celebration. Other soloists and repertoire will be announced later.

The symphony has expanded its membership to include musicians from Utah county to surrounding counties. The members give of their talents for the enjoyment of making beautiful music. The symphony has reached a very high level of performance and has received much acclaim.
